Going back to my custom roots, we bring you a custom piece using Super Plastic Janky vinyl figure. A homage to Huck Gee who inspired my early works as a custom artist and co-creator of Super Plastic, and also a dedication to my late mother who passed away last year.
This piece is a very personal piece celebrating her life and all that she has taught me. She raised 7 kids, lived through the Vietnam War and restarted her life in Canada as a refugee. Her strength and courage I can never match. Her will and spirituality I constantly strive to achieve. She taught me to harm no creature no matter how small and to always give no matter how little you had. She was a true Buddhist and lived her life benefiting others.
A week before she passed, I told her she would visit me as a bird and when my journey was done, I would follow her. So the bird symbolizes all our loved ones we have lost along the way, and the watch to show no matter how time is constantly in motion, shared memories are eternal.
